Verlaine's poetry is new to me so I can't rate the tramslation. In the kindle format, no navigable TOC and the poems are formatted as paragraphs, so start here only if u have never encountered Verlaine before and want to get an idea of his content.

Very fine.
Though by no means an expert on the poems of Paul Verlaine, I like his generous and lush adjectives and descriptions of insights into love and nature. The friendship and respect between Verlaine and Arthur Rombard can be understood as their
love for language surpasses differences in style and technique.
Besides the big name of Verlaine and some passages, I don't know if by translation a bit, but the themes and content don't seem symbolist nor magical enough, no "kick" to the meddle in the heart. But it has some value. Strangely similar to Allen Ginsberg, and also parallel in these times with Rimbaud and Dylan in each case and scenario..
Translation is ok as far as I can see...
BUT the formatting and lay-out in the version
is disastrous... the spirit of Verlaine is gone...
Buy Verlaine as a REAL book.
